After reading the book “Hjärnstark” (which literally means ‘brain strong’), if someone asked me why I bother going to the gym or running in the forest I would simply answer: “To exercise my brain of course!”

The author Anders Hansen talks about how physical training is extremely good for the brain and mental health. Hansen supports his arguments with studies conducted all over the world and gives advice on how to exercise your brain.

Personally I was aware that exercise could decrease stress-levels and improve mental abilities – but I was surprised to learn that physical exercise is great medicine for mental depressions, as an example.

Once I finished the book, I felt encouraged to go out for a run. I’m sure you will too!
